How Simon can Make an Impact on Seniors

The classic 80’s game SIMON™ brings every bit as much fun and challenge today! Simon challenges one or more players to memorize the hypnotic lights and sound sequences.

This memory game is played on an electronic disc, which has four colored buttons, each of which plays a different tone when pressed. In each round, the device lights up one or more buttons in random order. Players must reproduce the random sequence by quickly pressing the buttons in the correct order.

This engaging game strengths your ability to memorize, which makes is the perfect game for people suffering from a decline in memory. There is growing evidence of a link between regular participation in mental, cognitive, or intellectual activities and a reduced risk of cognitive decline. “Brain training games” — or computerized cognitive training consisting of programs of games designed specifically to exercise memory, attention, speed, flexibility, and problem-solving — have become increasingly popular in recent years.

WHY GET INVOLVED WITH US?

Our goal at Simons 4 Seniors is to help increase the frequency in which participants engage in positive health and wellness activities and behaviors and create fun activities that promote engagement, socializing, and coordination by using games and events to improve mental acuity, in collaboration with organizations and different venues.

Games aren’t always just a means of entertainment, in some cases, they’re just what the doctor prescribed. In fact, research has continued to point to games as a means of slowing the progression of cognitive disorders. For people suffering from cognitive impairment, this is fantastic news. Not only can games lift the spirit, but they can keep their brains active.

These games can cover a wide range of health-related topics and facets, offering an entertaining and relaxing way for people to spend leisurely time working on their health. To better support their psychological and physical health, as well as their social life, small everyday steps can make all the difference. That is why healthy wellness activities are so great!
